Got questions?

Let's Clear It Up

Everything you need to know about booking, planning, and traveling with Brown Sugar Experiences.

How do I get started booking with you?

Start by filling out my travel inquiry form. Tell me your dream destination, travel dates, budget, and how many people are coming. I'll reach out within 48 hours to schedule a discovery call where we dig into the details.

How far in advance should I book?

The earlier the better! For group trips and international travel, I recommend reaching out at least 3–6 months in advance. For last-minute getaways, I'll do my best — but availability and pricing are harder to control the closer to the date we get.

What exactly do you handle for me?

Pretty much everything! Flights, hotels, excursions, transfers, travel insurance, restaurant recommendations, itinerary building, and supplier coordination. You just pack your bags and show up — I handle the rest.

Do you charge a planning fee?

Yes, I charge a planning fee that varies based on the complexity of your trip. This fee covers my time researching, building, and coordinating your experience. I'm transparent about both my fees and any commissions — I'll always let you know upfront what to expect.

What if I need to change my plans after booking?

Life happens! I'll work with you and the suppliers to make adjustments. Keep in mind that changes may incur fees depending on the supplier's policies and how close to departure we are. This is also why I always recommend travel insurance.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

100%, yes. I require it for all group trips and strongly recommend it for every booking. Travel insurance protects you from cancellations, medical emergencies, lost luggage, and unexpected delays. I can help you find the right coverage for your trip.

How does payment work?

Most trips require a deposit to hold your booking, with the balance due closer to departure (typically 60–90 days out). I'll walk you through the exact payment schedule during our planning process. Payment methods vary by supplier.

Are you available during my trip if something goes wrong?

Yes! I don't just hand you a confirmation email and disappear. I'm available via phone and email while you're traveling. If something goes sideways — a flight cancellation, a hotel issue — reach out and I'll advocate for you directly with the supplier.

Why use a travel agent instead of booking myself online?

Anyone can find a flight on Google. What I bring is years of firsthand experience, supplier relationships, and a personal investment in making your trip exceptional. I catch things booking sites miss, negotiate perks you wouldn't get on your own, and save you hours of research. Plus — when things go wrong, you have a real human in your corner.
